Description

An insecticide for the control of insect pests in apple, plum, potato, grapevine, tomato, maize, nut crops, berry crops and vegetables.

Compatibility with other pesticides: SHENZISHENZI40%  SHENZI™ 40% is compatible with most fungicides and insecticides. However, in each specific case, a preliminary test for chemical compatibility is required.

Period of protective activity: At least 14 days.

Selectivity: Non-selective.

Speed of Action: Within several hours after ingestion or contact, insect pests cease feeding, exhibit muscular paralysis, become immobile, and drop from the foliage. Pest mortality typically occurs within 2 to 4 days following initial exposure.

Phytotoxicity: SHENZISHENZI40% is not phytotoxic to treated crops when used according to the recommendations specified on the label.

Crop tolerance: When used in accordance with the recommended application guidelines, treated crops are tolerant to SHENZI™SHENZI40%  insecticide.

Resistance: When alternated with insecticides belonging to other chemical groups, the development of resistance is less likely.

Repeated use of insecticides with the same mode of action on the same field over several years can result in the natural selection of less susceptible pest populations. These individuals may survive, reproduce and eventually become predominant in the treated area. The development of resistant pest populations can be prevented or delayed by rotating insecticides with different modes of action.SHENZI40% belongs to IRAC Group 28 — Ryanodine Receptor Modulators.SHENZIRepeated or continuous use of SHENZI™ or other Group 28 insecticides may lead to the development of resistant insect populations in certain crops.SHENZITo reduce the risk of resistance development, the use of SHENZI™ 40% should be limited to two applications per season.SHENZISHENZI™ 40% should be incorporated into insecticide resistance management and Integrated Pest Management (IPM) programs, including mechanical and biological control methods, as well as the rotation of insecticides with different modes of action against successive generations of the same pest.

Mode of Action

SHENZISHENZI40%  SHENZI™ 40% eliminates insect pests through ingestion via the digestive tract and through contact, depending on the pest species, crop and environmental conditions. SHENZI™ 40% is highly effective against insect larvae and also exhibits ovicidal/ovi-larvicidal activity against certain species. SHENZI™ 40% activates insect ryanodine receptors (RyR). This activation causes the release of calcium from internal stores in muscle cells, disrupting normal muscle regulation. This results in muscle paralysis and ultimately the death of the insect. Following intoxication, the insect rapidly stops moving and feeding. Susceptible insects die within approximately 2–4 days.
